Wasn't 17 the one that claimed he is the strongest android lol? 17 gets wrecked.

16 clearly denies that "confidence" that 17 supposedly had.

Chapter: 372 (DBZ 178), P8.3
Context: after Cell is hit with the Hell’s Flash
No.16: “He’s not defeated! He probably took damage, but he’s not the sort of opponent to be killed by that level of attack!”

16 was worried about the others, not himself. It's pretty clear. And this was right after 17 showed "confidence".

He knows that #16 is comparable to Cell, and having fought Cell, and judging from #16's statement saying he's weaken or hurt, Lapis is well ready to finish him off. And as you can also see, #16 clearly wants them to escape and he doesn't denies Lapis' earlier statement on the next panel, about him not having the power to win.

@ RealSociedad and PG, He did say that but he was also the one that said Lazuli couldn't handle all of the Z-Fighters if they ganged up on her. Yet him saying he can best a damaged Cell is out of this world.
